Community of Port of the Islands
The community of Port of the Islands, amid the 10,000 Islands, with direct access to the Gulf of Mexico and the 10,000 Islands, beckons sportsmen to unparalleled abundance. The inland canals and rivers provide a constant challenge to fishing enthusiasts. And the entire range of saltwater gamefish await. Sail away to majestic sunsets, powerboat to secret angling spots, or kayak and canoe over the emerald green waters in a setting like no other.
Port of the Islands offers waterfront single family luxury homes, single family villas, condos, hotel condos, and lots. There's a resort boutique HOTEL (https//www.poiresort.com) featuring award winning Angler's Cove Restaurant and Bar with live music most nights (http://www.anglerscoveatpoi.com) and a membership resort style club for pool, fitness and tennis access. Another fine amenity is our full-service MARINA with a professional harbormaster (https://www.portoftheislandsmarina.com) featuring Boat, Jetski, and Bicycle Rentals and liveaboard and non-liveaboard slips for rent or lease. The marina store and boat ramp, owned and operated by Collier County Parks and Recreation and private vendors (https://theshipstore.com), also offers boat and kayak tours through private enterprises (http://tourtheglades.com). And we have our own fire station manned 24/7. Across the street, there's a gun club. Trap, skeet, and sporting clays are offered at "Gulf Coast Clays" plus a rifle and pistol range at "Louland." Port of the Islands owns and operates it's own state-of-the-art brand new water and sewer treatment plant, located on the north side of the community, through the Community Improvement District (CID), which has 5 members on it's Board of Directors, Its purpose and responsibilities include water supply and sewer management, road maintenance and drainage, street light management, mosquito control, security, right of ways, fire prevention and control, and the overall maintenance and beautification management...maintaining the beauty and serenity of the "Port." Public meetings are held the third Friday of each month at 10:00am in the clubhouse at Orchid Cove, all are invited to attend. Comments and requests are welcome. (https://poicid.com)
Many of our neighbors enjoy walking, running, and biking around our safe community. Watching the manatees and dolphins play and swim is a common relaxing pastime from your lanai. And if you enjoy fishing at your backdoor, you can catch snook, tarpon, snapper, and more...right off the dock and seawall. Best of all, dock your boat at your back door too! Take a leisurely ride down the canal into the islands or around the community, setting your eyes and ears on many native birds. Or fish to your heart's content, in the backcountry of the 10,000 Islands or the Gulf of Mexico. Be sure to pack a lunch or barbecue, there's plenty of private islands and beaches to make your relaxing day complete!
Everglades National Park, popular among tourists from around the world is just minutes away from Port of the Islands (https://www.nps.gov/ever/index.htm). And while you share nature's abundance with the gliding birds and curious manatees that surround and permeate our community, you'll know that the quiet sophistication of metropolitan Naples (just 20 miles to famous downtown Olde Naples) and cosmopolitan allure of Miami (just 80 miles south) are close at hand. Shopping is only minutes away. Shopping centers at the intersection on 951 and 41 offer Publix, Fresh Market, Steinmart, Michaels, Marshall's, Ross, Ulta, Super Walmart, Lowe's, Walgreens, CVS, Staples, liquor, hairdresser and barber, nail center, restaurants, banks, etc. There's an outlet center just down the road (about a mile) on 951 and Marco Island is about a 20 minute ride on Rt. 92, San Marco Rd. with a new Publix with other stores coming soon even closer on 41!
Port of the Islands is a prime waterfront community that only a few will ever enjoy. With protected lands surrounding us, growth is non-existent. There's no possibility, ever, of expanding the size of our community. Someone once said, "It's like living in the middle of Yellowstone National Park." The unmatched beauty of nature coupled with the luxurious amenities of a planned GULF ACCESS residential community can be yours at Port of the Islands. So don't wait, stop by or contact us today, your dream awaits!
